The team

The team was established in 2006 under the name 100 Celsius. In 2009 we became The Norwegian National Barbecue Team.

There are normally about 250 teams competing in Memphis in May, roughly 70 – 150 per category.

2025: 2nd place in “Beef”

2023: 1st place in “Exotic”

2022: 1st place (tied) in “Beef”

2019: 11th place in “Turkey Smoke”; 14th place in “Poultry”

2017: 13th place in “Hot Wings”; 16th place in “Exotic”; 17th place in “Poultry”

2016: 6th place in “The Kingsford Tour of Champions”

2015: 3rd place in “Exotic”; 4th place in “The Kingsford Tour of Champions”

2014: 4th place in “Mustard Sauce”

2013: 4th place in “Beef”

2012: 3rd place in “Exotic”; 6th place in “Beef”; 8th place in “Pork Shoulder”

2011: 1st place in “People’s Choice”

2010: 3rd place in “People’s Choice” (Boston Butt); 4th place in “Exotic” (lamb); 9th place in “Seafood” (Norwegian salmon); 12th place in “Mustard Sauce”; 16th place in “Beef”; 17th place in “Vinegar Sauce”

2009: 2nd place in “Beef”; 2nd place in “Exotic”; 6th place in “Mustard Sauce”

2008: 4th place in “Seafood” (Norwegian salmon); 10th place in “Poultry”; 12th place in “Hot Wings”; 19th place in “Exotic” (lamb)
