My Favorite Marinade

Enough for 10-12 chicken breasts or 3 - 4 kg of meat
This marinade has been one of my favorite for years. I have used this recipe for beef, chicken, lamb and prawns, and it is a key ingredient in the Mexican Fiesta meal.
Marinade:
1 cup vegetable oil
2 bottles of beer (the one you are sipping on right now will work fine)
6 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon whole black pepper, smashed
6 garlic cloves, peeled and cut in half
3 jalapeño chiles, with seeds, roughly chopped
1 onion, peeled and cut into thin slices
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Add pieces of meat or shrimp to the marinade. Meat and chicken should be marinated for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Scampi requires no more than a couple hours.
